The Popped Balloon (CTB1 - LBN 576, HOO)

This area is cataloged as Abell 85 and CTB1. George O. Abell included the nebula in his planetary nebula catalog. Later, it was determined to be a supernova remnant. The CTB1 catalog includes it as a radio source. It also emits xrays.

This is a faint nebula. I processed it as HOO.  The Oiii is really dim. It mostly shows up as the blue on the left side.

This is an area about the size of the full moon.
